I moved from London to Sydney 18 months ago. I was educated,
confident and friendly. Worst of all, though, I was proud. All I wanted
to do was run a restaurant as I had in London. I applied and applied,
but no avail. I refused to apply at the supermarkets- the ~class system~
I had grown up with told me not to do it. Instead, I slept most days.
Cooked and slept. Little did I know, I was actually depressed- by pride.
And
in the depths of my depression, I found out I was pregnant. What
followed was a shock. And then a belief that I was worth pretty much
nothing- I had very little family base, still no permanent job, and now I
was to be 'barefoot and pregnant'. Great, I thought. But within a few
months it really was great.. You hear all these stories about your body
never being the same again, or your sex life. These are all secondary to
the mind-altering experience that is motherhood. My baby became my best
friend. I had someone to talk to when my husband was at work, and
someone to nurture-which in turn nurtured my soul.
I had a very healthy pregnancy and ate very well, which made me feel even better.
I think I was getting a sign that fulfillment does not always come from paid work. Real self-fulfillment comes from balance: baby, husband, exercise, cooking, time out, friends and chores. My baby was my connection to Australia, a sense of belonging that would take us from mother's group, to playground, to swimming lessons, and maybe one day to footy matches or tennis or drama school.

I'm very easy and chilled, give me some Oreo cookies and I will love you forever. You will get more points if you like mountains in snow.
I have two most important people in my life: my husband Elijah and my baby boy Roman.
I love traveling, countries with four seasons, good food and champagne.
Seeing other countries and meeting people from different cultures taught me loyalty, appreciation and gave me an amazing experience that I use in my every day life now.
Coffee doesn't help me anymore, sitting in front of TV can kill me. I constantly feel the need to be out there in the world.
I was born and grew up in Moscow, Russia. My favorite spot on earth is the Rockies, but I call London home as I lived there for quite a while. It's easy to make friends there as well as losing them: people come and go in this place.
I'm into all sorts of things, and if something makes me happy, I do everything to have it in my life every day. This time last year I would say my friends is the biggest and the most important part of my life, I love them to bits:) I also believe that your best friends are those you grew up with, who know you inside out, who are there for you no matter what, who know what your boundaries are and respect them, understand what values are important to you. Anyone you meet later in life are just people you know, who you call friends, but it's not the same.
I hate acupuncture, smelly hair, strawberries and people with bad manners.
I like people who know what they want in life, have passions, not obsessions and can take care of themselves. You gotta make me laugh, because I will always try to keep a smile on your face:)
